Monogram Momma...

I bought the kids some t-shirts the other day for $1 each! Yep, gotta love a buck! They were actually fine just as they were BUT i love to embellish. And i love monogramming more. :)
So i got out the ol'machine and started embroidering away. Got little man 3 pair of shorts for the beach for just $3.!!! 3 outfits for cheapola...and they look as if they were from an expensive "brand name" that i love but can't bear to pay $60 for 1 outfit. And now they are just for him...very personalized. And while i was at it i monogrammed a pair of his jammies and something for big sister. I love personalized things....don't you?? My little man is gonna be stylin!!

I took the kids down town yesterday all decked out in their Easter Outfits to take some Spring Portraits. I got some really great shots and was so excited! I knew that my little 7 months old would be a breeze...but i wasn't looking forward to trying to get my 2 yr old to actually look at the camera...let alone smile! She will NOT look at the camera these days. Impossible!!! I was really wanting some pictures of them together since i really haven't gotten her to cooperate on that yet. She did awesome! I was so proud of her. :) She proudly held her little brother and smiled. I can't wait to edit, print and mail out to family and friends.

Today is another great day here in the South!! I'm done with my morning chores and now me and the kids are going to go outside. Little girl has a "Tea Party" planned for me and little brother. :) And I have a front porch swing calling my name (maybe i will edit my photos there).

Don'tcha just love signs of spring...warmer weather, flowers budding and birds starting nests......Happy SPRING!!

So fresh and so Clean, Clean.......

One closet down 3 to go. I'm still working away on Baby boys room so i decided that his closet would be the first for spring clean up. It was in desperate need for organization. Man can kids closets get out of hand FAST! Plus i knew there were decorations in there that i couldn't find and i wanted to use! I can't believe i'm showing this (gasp) here is what it looked like before......

Yep...pretty bad! I pulled EVERY thing out and washed down the walls, shelf and floors. There was a coat of drywall dust over everything in there. Yuck!! Then i established how many storage pieces i had. I had an old (and cheaply made) book shelf in there that i wanted to use. It will get a coat of paint one day. I used the first shelf for shoes. Second i put books and photo albums on. Bottom diapers and wipes. Then i put the hubbys old toy box his Grandfather had made him when he was a little boy in there. In went stuffed animals and toys he isn't old enough for. A grandparent gave him a huge picture she had got on sale and it doesn't quite fit the decor so i hung it above the toy box (cute). His clothes got hung in order of size(i can't believe the clothes that this little boy has). Then on to the top shelf. That is were spare bedding, unused decorations and baskets for future items went. And here it is. The CLEAN/ORGANIZED closet. :)

Organization is hard to find these days with all the remodeling going on. Man does it feel good to have at least 1 clean closet in this house. Now if only i had enough time and energy to get the others done today.

I've got 1 project in little man's room going on this week. It has took me awhile to actually have the time to do it. But (fingers crossed) i hope to finish and get to show it to you sometime this week. :)

Happy Monday!!

Facial...

Most people don't realize how busy a Stay at home Mom's life can actually be. There is rarely time in the day that i can focus on doing something "just for me". I have to get up EARLY to feed my son (one of my favorite times of the day though). It's just me and him and he gets my full attention for about an hour before he winds down and goes back to sleep. While it is tempting to go back to sleep myself...i have to get up and start the day. Cause if i don't get a jump start on daily tasks/cleanup/crafting/coffee i won't be able to give my kids the time i want/need to give them.

Last Friday as i was cleaning/scrubbing my bathroom i ran across a tube of some Mud Facial Deep Pore Cleaning Stuff and all i wanted to do was stop and pamper myself but there isn't allot of "Pamper" time these days. Bathroom was in need of cleaning...one kid crying the other bopping around being a 2 year old. Which i have to admit she was actually playing good by her self for the moment. So i stop cleaning and started applying the mud goo. It said to leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Perfect...it might take that long to finish cleaning. I have to say...it gave me the incentive to work fast and clean ....and i felt super girly in the process. After the 20 minutes was up i was done scrubbing AND just in time to wash the mud off my face. Pretty nice i think. I got alittle "Me" time in the midst of kids and cleaning. Friday is my Scrub the kitchen and bathroom day. Why Friday? Because i love having those two places clean for the weekend and also i don't feel as bad if someone "drops" in. Just something i have done for the past 10 years. :)

Also while i was cleaning i decided to display my beauty products in a cute basket so that i could see them and actually use them. Now i look forward to my Friday Clean up routine...cause i get a "facial" too. :)

Yes that is some of the NASTY wall paper in the background! Not to fond of the tile work either. But that is a project for another day.

Mod-Podge....

I have been hard at work in Baby Boy's room. We Painted his room a few weeks ago. It was an awful mess! Painted over wall paper on 2 walls and the other 2 walls had to be fixed and sanded down cause someone tried to remove the wall paper and it looked as though someone had had a sword fight in there. Hence the reason they probably stopped and just painted over the other papered walls. Our house is a prime example of Wall Paper gone terrible wrong...whoever did it...didn't know what they were doing. And we are the ones paying for it! So after a LONG hard week of working on the walls and prepping them for paint...finally my little man has a freshly painted room. The color...Vintage Blue. Love it!! It is so soothing in his room. I wanted his room to have a vintage feel cause i wanted to display some old vintage airplanes and cars. I wanted to make his room feel not so much like a baby room...wanted to do something that would grow with him. The hubby loved the idea...he loves airplanes (he has his private pilots license) so i knew he would love it. :) I had already picked out the fabric and made his bedding. But i will have to keep you in suspense awhile longer on his bedding i'm trying to personalize it today. I will have it ready to show tomorrow. SO here is a few decorations i have been working on. First the hubby pasted down a Photo that he had. A few years ago we went to "Sun and Fun" in Florida. He was in heaven. Lots of Planes for him to look at. They had the Memphis Bell there AND one of it's past pilots was there signing photographs. PRETTY COOL!! So he got one. I dug it out of a packed box and headed over to Hobby Lobby to get a frame and mat. Came home and put it together.

Next i hung something i found while i was at Hobby Lobby! Yep, an airplane Propeller!

Then i got out the Ol' Mod-Podge and added a little something extra to this Letter i had. Ripped up some paper that looked like old letters and podged it on.

Next on the agenda is to Repaint that shelf you see and also another shelf "Project" that the hubby helped me out with. It's pretty cool. Can't wait to show ya. :)

C is for Curtains...

I finally got baby boy's curtains finished. I'm in love. They turned out so good. I have had his bedding done for quite some time now but his room is just now getting some love in all this remodel shenanigans. Which was hard for me during the last part of my pregnancy...i didn't have a finished room for my little boy to come home to. :( I still had some of the stripped fabric i used for his crib skirt. So i put it to good use. I, for a moment, thought i had made a huge mistake in dimensions but as soon as i got them up i found out that they were just right. WHEW! Still working on decorating his room so pay no attention to the clutter on the "changing table". Speaking of...you may see some pink blankets rolled in his basket there. YEP, Pink. His big sis handed them down to him. You see i found the BEST swaddling blankets for her that were huge! They swaddled her till she was 7 months old. When i went to get some blue ones for baby boy...they were no where to be found. AND i was in need of big cause he is a big'ol boy! So bless his heart...i used/have been using the pink ones. Oh well at least that money was well spent. :P

My next few posts i will be featuring what i have been up to in his room. So sweet but all B-O-Y!
Stay tuned.......

A Penny Saved...

As a stay at home wife/mom i find it my "Job" to make the money my husband earns go as far as possible. I work hard at finding good deals and to stay as frugal as possible. I use coupons, i shop the sale racks, i go to consignment sales and thrift stores. I also have a membership to Costco. I went and scooped out Sams and found that Costco actually has the better deals and saves (me) more. We hit Costco up about every other Sunday. Why Sunday? Well because one we are already out and two little girl LOVES to go to the snack bar and get a big'ol hot dog. They have a deal on Hot dogs..you get the foot long dog and large drink for just $1.50!! Yep! I split it with her and get a very berry sunday for dessert. Then we peruse the isles for samples. That is her favorite part. Then i pick up my usual...Huggies, Wipes, Batteries, Milk. Why those items? How much is saved?? Huggies usually cost around $10 for a pack of 32. I get a box of 224 for $40. So that saves me around $30 (for the equivalent). I save about $7 on wipes. On Batteries i save $4. And Milk i save 0.35 cents per gallon. Trust me that adds up when you have a 2 yr old running around. Worth the $50 membership...YES! For me anyway. What are some ways you save money??

Fabulous Friday...

I recently got a new hair cut...therefor i needed a new hair product. I have been using this for several weeks now and I LOVE IT! So much so that i had to blog about it...ha! I have thick, curly hair and i love to straighten it. This lotion gives it just what it needs to stay straight or curly if i so choose. A little pricey....but gals...your gonna love it!

This is FABULOUS for your hair!!!!!

* A blend of herbs, vitamins & Tea Tree Oil replaces moisture, soothes, detangles, enhances the performance of products and reminds us of old-school barbers' elixirs.

* Who: Anyone; especially dry, coarse, porous or colored hair.

*When: Daily; to detangle and prepare hair for styling; anytime to dampen and reactivate products already in hair; to wet down hair and lubricate the blade while cutting.

*How: Spray liberally and evenly on damp hair and work through.

**********************************************************************************
I have lots of projects going on this weekend. Most i have already started but still working on. Hopefully i can get some of them finished and i can tell you about them next week. Until Monday...Have a FABULOUS weekend.

I heart Old Navy...

"Pre-Kids" i loved to shop. Still do but don't get to do it as much. And when i do get out i always end up in the kids section. But today i sat down and looked online at one my favorite places...Old Navy. I found several things that i would love to have. We are going to be spending allot of time at the Beach this year so everything i picked out was geared toward Beachwear.
Khakis, whites and blues just scream Beach to me.

Something for the Hubby...

Little Girl...

Little Man...

Now with everything picked out...i just need to get up the nerve to ask for my hubby's wallet...HA!

Backpack, Backpack........

It is no secret that i want to home school my children. It is something my husband and I have talked about and agreed on. My little girl LOVES to read and learn. That makes me so happy. We have a great schedule...and she counts on it. Unfortunately we do have a t.v. in our home. I have to watch LOST! But as far as the kids go...my little girl gets to watch 30 minutes of t.v. in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon after her nap. Other than that she is off playing away. I found the cutest backpack for her back last year after all school supplies went on sale a month or so after school started. It was only 4.99... I love cheap! So i grabbed it...even though it is WAY to big for her now. I came home with it and put it in her closet so that i could start collecting things to put in it for her for Christmas. I totally forgot about it until i started cleaning out her closet the other day. So i pulled it out and started packing it full with a stash of things she loves to do/read everyday. Then i got the big idea!!! This would be the perfect start to getting her ready for Home Schooling. So here it is.....The Back Pack......

Isn't it just the cutest! Eventually I'm going to Monogram it with her sweet little name.

This is our daily read. She loves it! I read 1 chapter to her a week. They are short chapters so i read the full chapter everyday for 5 days....gotta love repetition.

On to other learning...we then do puzzles and flash cards.....

She got this "laptop" for Christmas. It has allot of Learning games. Not that she knows what she is doing with it yet...but she does repeat the words, numbers and letters.

And she loves drawing on this.........

And of course here is her favorite part of the back pack....crayons and paper and stickers. :)

And then every night i let her pick out the next days book. She is loving her Fancy Nancy books these days.

And yes it does ALL fit in her back pack...HA! :)

It is fun for her and fun for me. And i like the fact that now she has a Desk to "work" on too.

6 Months Old...

This little guy is 6 Months Old. Don'tcha just love those chubby cheeks and chubby rolls. Here is a preview of his 6 month photo session.

His beautiful eyes...

This was a b/w session but i personally loved this one in color.

His feet stayed in his mouth....

So i had to get a close up of those sweet feet and busy hands....

I'm still editing these photos. I'll be doing a Photo Editing Post soon and i will be using some of these pictures. Be sure to check back in...........
