Vacation Deals...

Blogging on Vacation? Sure...the kids are napping and i wanted to share what i found. :)

Yep, i found a GoodWill! And i just couldn't help going in to see what they might have. I wish i had had more time to look cause this place was huge! I did a quick walk through and found a sale rack. Everything was a dollar. What caught my eye was a red polkadot dress. I went to go check it out and it was a boutique dress from Chez Ami...NEW too! Hello Christmas dress for my little girly girl!

So i kept looking on that rack and wound up with a pair of Pants from Lilly Pulitzer with little Scottie dogs embroidered on them and matching white button up top.

I also found a button up top from Strasburg for her. I only found baby boy 1 thing from that rack...a blue and yellow jon jon with dinosaurs.

To Cute!! All that for a dollar each. I was so excited! I couldn't stay long cause we were on our way somewhere else...

Just goes to show you that you never know when you might happen up on a good deal. Next time you are out of town and pass a thrift store or goodwill you might want to check it out. :)

LOST

I'm a huge LOST Fan. Are you?? Last night was the Series Finally. I hate to see this show go. It is the only Show i have followed from day 1! Me and the hubs looked forward to watching this every
season. That being said...i was very UNhappy in the way they ended it. I had my suspicions that this is where they were heading with it all about 2 seasons back. But i was hoping that it was going to be something super crazy and wild and unbelievable BUT it was just "Hey your dead". I still loved it though...it is still the best show ever (to me anyway).
P.S. I'm so glad that Sawyer ended up with Juliet and Jack with Kate. :)

No Shoes......

No Shoes....

No Shirt......

No Problem......

Lots of family fun at the Beach. Baby boy doesn't like it to much. But Lil'miss LOVES it! She loves to chase the birds down the beach and build sand castles. She would stay out all day if we let her. As for me...well i was in heaven. The beach is by far my favorite vacation spot. All there is to do is RELAX!! Hubby got to enjoy fishing...didn't catch very much...but still had fun.

Lists...

Are you a list maker? I am. I have Daily To-Do Lists, weekly To-Do Lists, monthly to-do lists, Honey-Do Lists and a List of my Lists...HA! If i don't write it down in atleast 2 or 3 places...i don't remember and it doesn't get done. I even like to write down things that i have already done before the daily list so that i can cross it out and see what all i have done at the end of the day. :P

I have a tons to get done before a big vacation coming up. Laundry is getting done today. Along with a list of what to take to the Beach and Zoo.

But i do have one thing to show you that i have been working on in Baby Boy's room.......

TA-DA!!!

I have been working on this mural on his wall for awhile now. I try to squeeze in some time here and there. And it is coming along quite well. :)

The hubby is pretty impressed. And that makes me happy. :-D

The plan is to have his name spelled out with clouds like the airplane is writing it out over the wall. I took this picture before i got started on his name...i will show some of that later. I was just so excited that i had to show you before it is all done.

What do you think? ;)

Simple Pleasures...

I have been doctoring 2 sick little ones the past few days. Lots of long nights and days laying in bed or on the couch just holding my babies and trying to make them feel better. While NO i do not enjoy them being sick i have enjoyed holding them all day long. I guess i would call that a "Simple Pleasure" about being a mom. Being able to just hold my babies and nurse them back to health.

I thought today i would do a post on Simple Pleasures. Most of my simple pleasures involve my kids. :) But just a few don't. :P

The sound of my Kids laughing
Waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee
Snapping photos of my kids
Swinging on the front porch swing with my kids
Naptime
Diet coke and Southern Lady magazine
The smell of Freshly cut grass
A sweet note in the mail from a friend
A Saturday with nothing to do and staying in your PJ's ALL day!
The smell of my daughters hair after her bath
The whole family cuddling up in bed together and laughing
Warm summer nights and catching fireflys
Sweet Ice Tea
Hearing my daughter say a new word
Movie night with my hubby after the kids go down for bed
Freshly painted toe nails
Trips to the Park
Hearing a favorite song randomly come on the radio
Finding something awesome at a yard sale for .50 cents
A entirely clean house (this rarely happens)
OOOHH... being at the beach!- the sights, the smell, the sounds

That is a few of mine...what are your Simple Pleasures?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend....see ya next week.

Ugly Owl Makeover...

Remember this?

That not so cute owl plack. Well i knew what i was going to do with it when i saw it laying on the ground at a yard sale. It was only .25 cents. And that uglyfied thing was going to be turned into something beautified for my little girl. Yesterday i searched thru all my scrapbook papers (i don't scrapbook but i do enjoy picking out some of the papers for other projects...i have a friend that scrapbooks and she is AWESOME...one day i want to be a scrapbooker just like her! :o) ) I found a print that would look good in her room. Colored toile in shades of pink and green and brown. I had gotten some wooden letters at HL awhile back for this project. So i got those out and started painting on those. I tried lots of different colors but they seemed to disappear on the print i picked out. So i went with a bright green. I had some Ribbon left over from a previous project that i really thought would go well. Grabbed my Modge-Podge and glue gun and sat down to start and this is what i made......

A bow holder!!!!!

Isn't is just as sweet as can be? I was so happy with the way it turned out. :o)

My daughter has so many bows that they all didn't fit! Most of witch i have made her. One day i will post a tutorial on Boutique style hair bows. I do sell bows too so if you see one you like or have a color in mind email me for pricing. ;-)

Well another yard sale find BEAUTIFIED!! :)

Something Old into Something New....

Simple project for today. I found this old frame at a yard sale (surprise, surprise). I have been looking for something like this for my little girls room for some time now. All i wanted was the outside of an old frame...no glass no back. Found this puppy for only .50 cents! Her room is very French Provincial. One day i will get around to posting some proper pics of her room.

I had this "I" laying around her room so i grabbed some scrapbook paper that has a very vintage look... and my modge-podge. Put it on and hung it together and it looks fan-tab-ulous!! :-D When i showed little girl what i had put in her room she said "Oh Mama...is that for me?" I said yes it is...and she with the sweetest little voice ever then said...."Oh thank you , it pretty mommy". Your very welcome my little princess. Not much but she loves it and so do i.

Go To Music....

This morning i woke up knowing i had a long day ahead of me. Lots of boxs to sort thru and clean out. Trying to get my living room decorated and wanted to go through some things to see what i had. Lots of books to go through too. I have a huge t.v. armoire to fill up...hehe! And what doesn't find a home and or have an alternative place to go...gets to go to GOODWILL. Anyway...so i woke up this morning with zero energy!! It took all i have to get up and take care of the kids. I knew that my morning cup of joe wasn't going to cut it either. So i sat down and turned on Pandora. Plugged in one of my all time favorite songs (Take On Me by: A-Ha)

Yes i know...i'm a big'ol dork! But i always have loved this song. Well lets just say...it got me started. Then i heard this....

I was pumped. :-D Great tunes!! Just what i needed to get what i needed to get done today. AND my little girl love it too. She was just dancing away. Here is a list of some of my other favorites...what are yours??

Wham- Wake me up before you go-go
Pretty much anything by Micheal Jackson
ACDC - You shook me all night
Prince - Just give me your kiss
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon and Do you really want to hurt me
