Birthday Outfit and a New Toy ~

I always try to make something special for my kids to wear on their birthdays. This year i decided to make a appliqued number "3" shirt for my daughter with a matching skirt. I had the material already on hand cause i wanted to make this for her last year but didn't have the time to make it. So this year i was determined to make it for her. I simply drew out the number i wanted in the size i wanted on regular old white copy paper. Then took my material and ironed on some transfer adhesive. Once i got the adhesive on the material i layed the number i cut out and cut around it. And there you have it ...a matching number 3 to go with the CA-ute cupcake material i used for the skirt.

This material is so sweet. My daughter loves cuppy cakes! One of the cupcakes even has little hearts on it. Huuummmmm...you will be seeing this skirt again soon. :o)

This outfit is just darling on. And she will be able to wear it for awhile...so that makes me happy.

On to my next subject. This year when the hubby asked me what i wanted for Christmas i had THIS website ready for him. HA! I have been seeing alot on this neat little toy. And it is just what i needed to add to my camera equipment. It is called a Light Scoop. It easily goes on you SLR camera's hotfoot. And it is just what you need for indoor photography!

It doesn't look like much but man has it improved my indoor photography. I have been getting some awesome shots of my kids with this little gadget. I usually take my indoor photos with no flash. But that changes things {some of you fellow photographers know what i mean}. But with this it just diverts some of the flash around the subject...and makes for less shadows. Here i will try to show you what i mean. I took 2 pictures of the outfit i made.

Can You see the difference? I can! The one on the left is clear and bright. The one on the right has some shadowing from the flash.

This little gadget is well worth what you will pay for it. It really isn't that expensive at all. I actually got both that they offer. And with that i got a discount. If this is something you are interested in i highly recommend that you get both {warming and standard}. If you buy just one it will run you $29.95 plus shipping $8-$10 depending on where you live. If you buy both shipping is free and it is only $55.95. So you are saving. Trust me....you will love having both!

Here is what they have to say:

Lightscoop® is a smart low-tech device that creates soft, flattering light by redirecting your camera’s pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.

Don’t let your convenient little pop-up flash ruin your photos with evil red eye, ugly shadows, hot spots, bleached out faces, underexposed colors, and blurry movement that exist only in your photographs, not in the real world.

Slip a Lightscoop® on your camera and never miss out on another fabulous picture! Lightscoop creates soft, natural light and lets you capture the scene the way you see it.

If you look into getting one of these little puppies....let me know. I want to know how you like it! :)

I think I have finally figured out this google email stuff...I am used to yahoo...so it is just different not hard!
I LOOOOVE all of you sewing projects! The birthday dress is adorable! I wish I could sew for my girls! I really need to learn one day! Mom used to sew clothes for me and Andrew all the time when we were little. Your kids will appreciate those outfits when they are older even more than they do now!
Remodeling projects look awesome! Your house is going to be so beautiful when you are finished! You guys should be so proud!
